From ANIMAL PEOPLE, December 2000:
British ban fur farms
LONDON--A bill to ban fur farming in Britain cleared Third Reading in
the House of Lords on November 13, 2000, and awaits only the formalities
of Royal Assent and final ratification by the House of Commons to become
law. The Commons sent the ban to the Lords in July 2000, 11 years after
it was first recommended by the Farm Animal Welfare Council, a government
advisory body.
